Virtual Music Lessons

Advantages

In our experience, in-person lessons are the most effective way to learn to play a musical instrument. However, scheduling, transportation, location or health concerns can sometimes make remote lessons the best option.

I appreciate you and your family for taking health precautions to help keep me and my students safe. If you or a family member have been exposed to a virus or you think someone in your household is contagious, please let me know and we can meet virturally during that period.

Remote lessons are impersonal. You might experience technical issues. The teacher and student can't both play music in time together. It can make sharing some non-digital music materials more challenging.

Equipment

You can use any smartphone, tablet, or computer with a mic and camera. If you use a phone or tablet, consider getting a tripod and mount. You can avoid some audio hassles by using headphones.

Setup

Orient your device so that your teacher can see your hands and instrument, as well as your face.

Link

Your teacher will send you the meeting link when you set up your first virtual lesson.
